Why I am against long distance running as a workout
I personally don’t feel that running for long distances or long times is really necessary. I personally feel that running short distances fast is better. I would’nt run more than 1.5 miles at a time. If you can run that far without any problems, then I would say run it faster.
I know people who can run for miles at a nice slow pace, but if I challenge them to a race, they can’t keep up. Why do I think that’s significant? Because out in the real world, when will you really need to run really far, really slow? You could just walk. But what if someone is chasing you trying to do you harm.
You need to get away and to help FAST. When you run for a bus or to get out of the way of a car, you run FAST. In most sports, you run FAST. So why train for something you won’t be doing. I say train to run like you will need to run, FAST.
