Swim Thursday 7-12-2012

I found out that NYC pools have free adult lap swim from July 5- August 31. Lap swim hours are (Early Bird hours: 7:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m., Night Owl hours: 7:00 p.m.-Dusk). I decided to give it a try and got to the pool at 7:30am.

There were a few people there, but there was plenty of room to swim. The lanes weren’t roped off so you had to just try and stay in your own lane. Since swimming for a long time tends to tire out my body for at least a day, I decided to just do 6 laps in the pool, especially since it was free. That was about 300m. I did it using the combat side stroke. Since I’ve only been doing 25m laps, the 50m lap felt really long. I just kept going and tried not to think about the distance.

I didn’t do any other exercises, to allow my body to rest up and recover. Friday, I will end up doing a kettlebell workout and Saturday should be a workout in the park.
